How do you make the ULTIMATE burger?
I’ve tried making using ground sausage, veal, turkey, chicken and beef. I’ve seasoned burgers, put rubs on burgers, created sauces and Home Made condiments, topped them with exotic cheeses…I’m running out of ideas. Anyone out there have a recipe for the ULTIMATE burger?
I’m a purist when it comes to hamburgers…I like my hamburger to taste like hamburger, not soup mix, worcestershire sauce, bread crumbs, etc. I like ground chuck, good shaped patty…not too large, not too small, nice and thick, seasoned with salt and pepper and grilled. When it’s done, top it with a nice, thick slice of sharp cheddar and serve on a toasted bun.
Although, I have had an awesome burger that was filled with blue cheese. You take your ground beef and mix it with honey, tabasco sauce, crushed red pepper flakes and a few other items (can’t remember what they are…Cook Book is at home!) and put a piece of blue cheese in the center and fold it over so that when you grill it, the blue cheese gets soft and gooey in the middle of the burger. I don’t make these very often…just every once in a while for a treat. If you want the recipe, I’ll be happy to copy it for you and email it to you tomorrow. Just send me a message.
