Cheap and casual engagement party ideas?
We would really love a engagement party. We have approx 90 guests coming to our wedding, so it would be about the same numbers for the engagement party.
We would just love a gathering. Nothing formal. There is a great huggge beer garden in called the Newport Arms (in Sydney Australia) which would be perfect as it has inbuilt mini playgrounds for kids and its right on the water, very casual and relaxed.
Only thing is that we feel we should provide some small refreshments. Platters start at about $60 and that serves 10 people. So I guess that can get a little expensive.
We dont really have much space at our home to host anything and neither do our parents.
Any suggestions for something classy, cheap and casual?

Rent a shelter at a park and have a BBQ! Or you could do a potluck to save on food costs. Make it a day party and invite families to bring their pets, kites, lawn toys, and games and have fun!
